When you say clipping, you are talking about distortiondistortion correct?

I am talking about direct current coming from the amp and making that horrible sound in the subs

Most of the time, distortion isn't very audible hence the reason many people fuck equipment up. But if you are hearing a not so normal noise from ur subs I'd look into somewhere maybe in the soft parts of it. Not saying it's not distortion....but maybe it's something else

would a dd-1 help him a little more? I have had a similar problem with one of my 2 subs the sub was clipping (tinsel lead). and i did not over power it or anything.

You don't always have to be overpowering subs to be cliping them. I could help you out Chris and do a Dd-1 tune on your amps. I have my buddy Aaron's Dd1 meter, he leaves it at my house just for reasons like this.

What head unit and rca are you using? What type of settings on your head unit?

Jvc navigation rcas are jL and I set everything to 0 to set impedance. And once I found optimal volume I started messing with the amps

Every head unit has a point of clipping also. I used to run the arsenal series a95bt and my deck clipped at vol 48 out of 50 so I set and tuned at vol 47. Do you have 4 or 5v pre-outs? And what do you mean by set impedance? Sort of confused. But when setting your amp gains, you want to match whatever your preout voltage is from your deck. So if you have 2v you would want to set you your amp gain at 2v same if it was also 4 or 5v. I wish I could take a look at your setup bc I think I'd be able to do better troubleshooting in person lol
