and unless your gonna do a separate chamber box the new 18 will have to have the same soft parts. if not the subs will have different ts parameters and might not do well in the same air space. wish i had the room for a 18 but id either have to wall or upfire and can't wall yet. and upfire in a trunk is Just begging.for rattle! when my son can finally sit up front I'll do a wall. or if i can get a second devoted to audio

Same here lol and yea I'd have to buy a built Zv4 to match the one I have now. And that was a little over 700$. But for being an suv I don't have much cargo room, but j think I will do a wall in the future but when my son also too gets older bc he's only 2 now lol. I'd keep the wall behindy rear seats also bc I've got a design all made up and ready to go and its 12.65cubes after port displacement. Tuned to 30hz

oh So a c pillar wall. 12cubes for 2 18s is right on the edge for minimum space. id rather spend the extra $700 for another 18 then $1,400 for 2 15s. if your gonna add more power to the 15 set up then yea it might be worth it. but if your keeping the same power the gain will be minimal! not worth it. even adding another 18 on current power still not really worth it. if your doing a 148 one more 18 on the power you have now maybe a 149..150
it would be better to the ear but not meter. it would hit harder. but doubling the power with two 18s or 15s you would prolly brake the 150 mark with some ease.
my son is 15months so I'm in the same boat

Everyone is telling me with an efficient wall that with my m4 DD amp and another 18 like I have would do 50's all day. My m4 is a 5k+ amp. Being only running the single 18 I've got gain almost all the way down so I'm not in any way going to damage sub being I'd like to add another down the road. |

oh, i didn't know that was a 5k amp. so you have the power on tap. do you have 3rd row seats? i really think you can fit another 18 without going for a full wall.

me and my Lil bro put Carpet on.my trunk lid. I'm gonna do another layer over it because I don't.like the way it looks. i have a huge roll.of this Carpet so i have allot to spare! anyone need some if you wanna make the trip out I'll give you enough for a box. if you need more we'll talk $ but i have ALLOT!  |

oh the thing.on my box is foam folded up to stop the rattle of my trunk. just puts pressure against the lid.works great. Now if i could only.get.my taillights to stop!

haha, so i just searched for the specs on this pos prefab box my buddy let me barrow. well.... hold let me catch my breath... not only was i shocked by the $139.99 price tag, but when i saw the air space per sub i started giggling like a Lil girl. each sub has 1.15cubes of air net. who the hell would vent a box that small for 12s? who? then when i read this i lost my shit and hit the floor! so I'm reading threw and it says 3/4 inc mdf.. ok not bad... sping loaded terminals ok that's good... quality automotive Carpet ok.I'll.buy that.

i can't believe it, my sides hurt! no wonder i have no low end output in this pos! the box isn't big enough for a pair of 8s and tune? we don't need no stinking tune!

so tomorrow i will be adding my 60.4 ct amp to my system. not sure on the location yet but either way its going in. I'm gonna try something different with the mids tomorrow. my old type r mids will do fine until my meso comps get here. but stay tuned and find out! I'll be sure to take pics so you guys with short attention spans have something to look at! not looking forward to running the speaker wire threw the doors but hey least my girl gave me the ok to do what i want for a day! lets face it guys if there not happy no ones happy!  |

No the decal just makes it a true dime. Love the plexi backs on amps, guts are the sexiest part of an amp.

this was the set up in my Durango. the amp rack had a see threw bottom with a mirror underneath along lights. i use to have better pics but my.phone crashed. so i have what's left on photobucket  |
